Lufthansa Technical Training recently announced its partnership with Class to anchor and improve its virtual training programs. After a thorough and selective evaluation process, the European-based maintenance training organization chose Class for various reasons, including its ease of use, enhanced trainee engagement, and top-end virtual collaboration tools.

“Online distance learning is essential for our business model, and we consider Class as an imperative element to improve the quality of our training,” notes Panagiotis Poligenis, Head of Portfolio and Innovation for Lufthansa Technical Training.

Poligenis and his staff recognized the need for a sophisticated, intentionally designed virtual classroom platform. Through a rigorous vetting process that included demos, extensive testing, and numerous simulations, Lufthansa Technical Training concluded that Class offered the highest pinnacle of virtual training platforms, which could help raise the company's training experience to the next level.

  • Class stands out as a one-stop solution, eliminating the need for multiple integrated tools. The platform provides all the necessary features for synchronous sessions, ensuring that instructors have everything they need in one cohesive, seamless solution. This comprehensive approach not only simplifies the training process but also enhances the overall efficiency and effectiveness of Lufthansa Technical Training's programs.
  • Class’s intuitive interface enables instructors to quickly become proficient with minimal ramp-up time. This user-friendly design ensures that even those with limited technical skills can effectively use the platform right from the start.

“We are an EASA Part-147 organization, and our training needs to comply with the regulations of the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). We realized that Class could be an opportunity to improve instructor and trainee experience,” recalls Poligenis. “Class is a platform that facilitates the preparation process of our instructors and provides better collaboration opportunities with the trainees. The integration of Class with our LMS, the ability to set up quizzes, and the ease of sharing training material with trainees, to name a few, are adding significant value to our online training.”

Given the size of the organization and the complexities around operations, Lufthansa Technical Training has introduced a soft roll-out of the platform already and has plans to increase the number of training sessions over time in order to include all instructors. The feedback from trainers and trainees will help inform the remaining roll-out throughout the aviation group, as well as provide helpful insights to Class as the companies continue to grow this mutually beneficial partnership.
